      Profil

      Jacob Ari Burack s'intéresse principalement aux troubles cognitifs (neuropsychologie) associés à la déficience intellectuelle chez les enfants.  Par des travaux tant théoriques qu'en laboratoire, il tente de mettre en évidence les caractéristiques spécifiques de la déficience intellectuelle que l'on trouve dans certaines conditions comme le syndrome du X fragile, le syndrome de Down et l'autisme.

      Ses activités de recherche l'amènent à travailler en étroite collaboration avec les commissions scolaires.  Ce chercheur s'intéresse également à la santé mentale chez les jeunes des Premières Nations.
